CHUẨN BỊ ĐẠI LỄ PHẬT ĐẢN LIÊN HỢP QUỐC TẠI THÁI LAN

Dưới sự chủ trì của Hòa Thượng, Hiệu trưởng Phra Brahmapundit (tức Hòa thượng Phra Dharmakosajarn), Hội đồng Điều hành Đại học Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya (UCM) vừa tiến hành phiên họp chuẩn bị cho Đại lễ Phật đản Liên hiệp quốc – Vesak (UN Day of Vesak) lần thứ 10 sẽ diễn ra tại Trung tâm Hội nghị Liên hiệp quốc (Thái Lan) với chủ đề“Giáo dục và trách nhiệm công dân toàn cầu dưới góc nhìn Phật giáo”..

Theo đó, Đại lễ sẽ diễn ra trong ngày 21, 22-5.

Ngày đầu tiên sẽ bắt đầu với nghi thức khai mạc vào buổi sáng bằng các khóa lễ cầu nguyện hòa bình thế giới theo 3 truyền thống chính: Bắc truyền, Nam truyền và Kim cang thừa. Ngay sau đó là phần thuyết trình chính về chủ đề Đại lễ năm nay của Phó Thủ tướng kiêm Bộ trưởng Bộ Giáo dục Thái Lan Phongthep Thepkanjana.

Vào buổi chiều cùng ngày, Thái tử Hoàng gia Thái Lan Mahavajiralongkorn sẽ đến và phát biểu chào mừng. Thời gian còn lại của ngày đầu tiên là các phiên thảo luận của chư tôn đức, học giả và đại biểu đến từ 5 châu lục xoay quanh chủ đề chính của Đại lễ.

Ngày thứ 2 của Đại lễ bắt đầu bằng phát biểu của lãnh đạo các quốc gia và các tổ chức quốc tế như Liên hiệp quốc; Ủy ban Văn hóa, Khoa học và Giáo dục Liên Hiệp quốc (UNESCO).

Buổi chiều sẽ trang trọng cử hành lễ kỷ niệm 100 ngày sinh của Đức Tăng thống Thái Lan, Hòa thượng Phra Nyanasamvara. Lễ kỷ niệm sẽ tiến hành thông qua việc trình chiếu các đoạn video clip và thảo luận nhóm với chủ đề “Đóng góp của Tăng đoàn Thái Lan đối với Giáo dục và Nhân loại”.

Cũng trong phiên làm việc buổi chiều này, toàn thể đại biểu sẽ thảo luận và thông qua Tuyên bố Bangkok thể hiện quan điểm của Phật giáo đối với việc phát triển trách nhiệm công dân toàn cầu ở thế kỷ 21 phù hợp với tiêu chuẩn Liên Hiệp quốc. Qua đó nhấn mạnh đến việc phát triển những công dân mang tính toàn cầu, cải thiện bản thân đi cùng với việc tôn trọng các giá trị chung của nhân loại. Vào buổi tối, chư tôn đức và Phật tử đến từ các nơi trên thế giới sẽ tham dự lễ cầu nguyện nhân 100 năm ngày sinh của Đức Tăng thống Thái Lan, Hòa thượng Phra Nyanasamvara tại Buddhamonthon (tỉnh Nakornpathom).

Nhân dịp Đại lễ, Cục Du lịch Thái Lan cũng tổ chức một triển lãm quốc tế xoay quanh nội dung về “Đại lễ Phật đản Liên hiệp quốc” với ngân sách dự kiến trên 7 triệu bath Thái tại tầng một của Trung tâm Hội nghị Liên Hiệp quốc. Dự kiến sẽ có khoảng 1.250 chư tôn đức Tăng Ni, học giả và Phật tử đến từ hơn 85 quốc gia sẽ tham dự Đại lễ lần này.

Commonly called "Budda's birthday," Vesak Day is a time for Buddhists worldwide to come together and celebrate the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha. The commemorations range from meditations and quiet prayers to alms giving events to long colorful processions. In Indonesia, such events take place at the Borobudur Mahayana Buddhist monument, making it the most visited tourist attraction in the country.
